Principal's Corner...

Parents, we appreciate you attending Parent-Teacher Conferences! Each year we have a great turn out. Conferences provide our teachers an opportunity to share your child’s strengths, successes, and challenges. If you were not able to attend conferences, we want to meet with you in the near future. Your child’s teacher will be contacting you to set up a time that will work for you. Please keep in mind that we will have a second Parent-Teacher Conference in February during the 3rd quarter. Anytime you have a question, concern, or just want to
share information, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher.

The Parent-Teacher Board sponsored the Scholastic Book Fair during Parent-Teacher Conferences. I would like to thank you for supporting the book fair by volunteering for a shift or by purchasing books as the funds raised by the Parent-Teacher Board are used to support our students and staff!

As the weather is changing and we are nearing the winter season, it is important that your child is dressed for the ever-changing climate in Nebraska. Please make sure that your child is prepared each day with a warm coat, hat, gloves, and boots when there is snow on the ground. Your child will be outside for recess almost every day. Even on the coldest days we try to take them outside for a short period of time.

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!

Principal

News from Fifth Grade

Fifth grade is an exciting year with new opportunities for our students. They routinely help with morning announcements during which they lead the rest of the students in the Pledge of Allegiance each day. Students can also participate in Band and Community Problem Solvers (CmPS). Some of our students are also involved in Quiz Bowl or Future Problem Solvers.

Band started in mid-September. Many students are participating this year, which is fantastic! The students have had several weeks of lessons and seem to be enjoying it. It will be great to hear them play together in their Winter Band Concert on Thursday, December 11, and see how their hard work has paid off!

The fifth graders had their music program on October 13th which was titled “Music Through the Ages.” They did an outstanding job and the crowd was certainly entertained!
